Lunch & Learn

Featured Speaker: Mark Foster, WCDA Board Member & Work-Based Learning Coordinator, Baldwin-Woodville Area School District

Mark will present on Career Decision Self-Efficacy (CDSE), a critical factor in helping individuals make confident, informed career choices. Based on Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory, CDSE emphasizes belief in one’s ability to complete essential career decision-making tasks such as:

  • Self-appraisal
  • Gathering occupational information
  • Goal setting and planning
  • Problem-solving

This session will cover the research behind CDSE, practical applications in career development programs, and strategies for strengthening client and student outcomes through intentional interventions. You’ll leave with evidence-based tools to boost confidence, engagement, and long-term career readiness.

About the Speaker: Mark Foster develops programs connecting students with local and regional industries. A retired U.S. military education leader with 22 years of service, he previously managed the ASVAB Career Exploration Program for Minnesota and Wisconsin, supporting over 220,000 students.
